Sep. 30--Manchester—Case Mountain—Rick Sullivan (860-324-4952). Meet at 12:30 pm at the Case Pond Lot (68 Birch Mt. Rd, Manchester). Take I-384 east to exit 4. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Wyllys St. Turn right onto Highland Ave. Go under the highway, turn right onto Birch Mountain Rd. and then a quick right turn into Case Pond Parking Lot. From I-384 west take exit 4. Turn right at end of ramp onto Highland Ave and follow the previous directions. This is an easy 5.2 mile hike with gentle ups and downs, a great lookout point, a mysterious colliery and a waterfall. Rehydration at the Wood-n-Tap, 236 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT 06066.
