Arrive by 12:15 PM.  Hike steps off promptly at 12:30 PM.  Please be on time - it is getting too chilly to wait for late arrivals.

We will ascend on the Metacomet (blue) trail, which has a steep start and is a fairly rugged, rocky trail, to Lake Louise. We will return on the yellow trail, also rugged and rocky, along a trap rock ridge with beautiful views to the west.  This hike is rated moderate to difficult, with some steep, rocky sections and is ~ 4.5+ miles long.  The park is located on the north side of Rte 185 about 1 mile west of the junction of routes 185 and 178 in Bloomfield.  See https://portal.ct.gov/DEEP/State-Parks/Parks/Penwood-State-Park for park information and trail map.
