What is this?
We will paddle the Mill River in Ivoryton this Wednesday, July 22nd. We will paddle down to the falls behind Centerbrook Architects and then around Jean's Island. We will meet at the put-in at Falls River Drive, off Main St in Ivoryton at 10:00 and will put in at 10:30 The put in is about a tenth of a mile down Falls River Drive; a small park on the right just past a little bridge. This is a very easy paddle on smooth water. Plan about an hour and a half.
From Route 9 South, take Exit 3 and turn right onto Rt 154. Proceed about 1 1/2 miles. When you see the Copper Beach Inn on your left, Falls River Drive will be just past on your right. There is no porta-pottie there but if you continue another half mile up Rt 154, there is a porta-pottie on the right behind a white fence just before you reach the town green and Ivoryton Playhouse.
Following the paddle, those with an interest will drive back to the falls, where a newly installed fish ladder is located.
