Hike leader Corinne Houle (860 485 8251)...Picnic to follow at Bantam Lake. Celebrate fathers with us! Meet at 1230 pm at the picnic area 31 Van Winkle Rd., MORRIS, CT. We will carpool from there to the hike trailhead. For those without GPS, Directions: from center of Litchfield take route 63 South across the Bantam River to right turn onto Webster Rd (unpaved). Follow to hard left turn onto Whites Woods Rd. Follow that to right turn onto East Shore Rd. Follow that a short distance to right turn onto Van Winkle Rd to the picnic area. The hike will be 4 miles with no elevation gain or loss. Apres hike activities will include swimming and/or kayaking. BYOB, your food, something to share & a chair. A charcoal grill will be available. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER AT THE PICNIC LOCATION. There is a Port-o-Potty. Bring your hand sanitizer.
