About this event
HIKE - Sessions Woods, Burlington, CT. Jeanne Delehanty
860-748-5858
. Arrive by 12:15 PM. Hikes step off promptly at 12:30 PM.
There will be two hikes. The easy hike, lead by Anita, will be on the Beaver Pond Trail. It is a 2.6 mile loop hike on a gravel trail. The longer, moderate hike will be lead by Jeanne. This trail is always wet, you will need waterproof hiking footwear. It is ~ 3.5 mile loop that starts out crossing Rt 69 and follows part of the Tunxis Trail until it returns to the Beaver Pond Trail and back to the parking lot.
There is a bumper crop of acorns this season and they act like ball bearings on every trail. Hiking footwear required, hiking poles strongly recommended.
Remember that hunting is now allowed on Sundays on private property (which often abuts CT trails). Wear your safety orange.
Apres hike will be a BBQ at the home of Anita Kordek. Address will be provided at the hike. Hot dogs and chili will be provided. BYO beverages, chair and a dish to share.
