About this event
This easy 4+ mile hike overlooks the Cogincahug River with views of two waterfalls. The trail has some gentle ups and downs and a few easy, flat stream crossings. The water was only trickling on my recent test but it was quite muddy. Hiking footwear required, hiking poles strongly recommended. Wildlife sightings included deer, blue birds and a pileated woodpecker.
Arrive by 11:15 AM, hike steps off promptly at 11:30 AM. Please be on time. It's getting too chilly to wait for late arrivals. Be sure to toss your grippers or spikes into your pack. Conditions in the woods often vary from what you see in your backyard.
Apres in the park. Put a warm beverage in your thermos and bring snacks to enjoy around the fire. Bring a chair and extra layers or a blanket.
