Enjoy what Pulitzer Prize winners Pearl Buck and Robert Frost loved about Vermont … hiking the good earth along the road not taken, poetry slams and “Poet’s Pasta!” Here's the schedule:
Friday - arrive at the lodge. Dinner on your own.
Saturday
- 7:00 AM Breakfast available.
- 9:00 AM Depart Lodge for White Rocks Nat’l Rec Area, White Rocks Picnic Rd., Wallingford, VT.
- 10:00 AM, promptly, 2 hikes step off, one moderate (~2 miles RT, 170' elevation gain) one challenging (3.5+ miles RT, 1450' elevation gain).
- Apres hike gathering at White Rocks picnic area. BYOB, snacks & chair.
- 5:30 PM Happy Hour (BYOB) and optional poetry practice at the lodge.
- 7:00 PM Dinner of “Poet’s Pasta” at the lodge, cost $15.00. If you are staying at the lodge we assume you are joining us for dinner. For all others, please make your dinner reservation with Jeanne or Rhonda by 5:00 PM on 10/5.
- After dinner entertainment is a Poetry Slam coordinated by Corinne. Start working on your haiku, limericks, etc., or find a favorite poem to recite. A costume representing your poem or poet, or any poem or poet, is strongly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded in a multitude of categories!!
Sunday - “Buck’s Bacon & Biscuit Breakfast” after 9 AM. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy.
