What is this?
Jeanne Delehanty, 860-748-5858. Meet at
11 AM
. 145 Lang Road, Windsor 06095. From Interstate 91 heading north, take Exit 38. From Interstate 91 heading south, take Exit 38A. Turn right at the exit on to Poquonock Avenue (Route 75). Go about 1.5 miles and turn left on to Prospect Hill Rd. Turn right at the second traffic circle on to Lang Road and continue up the road to the park on the left. This is an easy to moderate C hike, about 5 miles, round-trip. Solstice celebration, hosted by Jeanne, to follow. Main dish provided. BYOB and a dish to share.
NOTE EARLIER AND VARYING START TIMES DUE TO END OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, EARLIER SUNSETS AND HIKE LENGTH.
Now that winter is upon us, please be sure you bring spikes or grippers to all hikes. You don't want to be skittering down the ice and wish you had them! Gaiters are also helpful to keep snow, slush and mud out of your hiking boots.
