What is this?
Moe and Peter will be leading a paddle departing from the Four Mile River this Saturday, August 25th. They will paddle into Long Island Sound, past Rocky Neck State Park to islands and beaches on the back side of Black Point and into the Pattagansett River. The beaches and sand bars here are superb.
Meet at Four Mile Boat Launch at 9:30 for 10:00 launch. High tide is around 10:30-10:45. Directions: use
21 Oakridge Drive, Old Lyme, CT 06371
. Bring chairs, towels, snacks, etc for a mid-paddle break and swim. Picnic to follow at DEP Marine Headquarters, Ferry Road, Old Lyme, CT. Hamburgers and small grill will be provided however additional grills would be appreciated, as well as sides to share. Inclement weather cancels.
Please note that a portion of this paddle is in the open waters of Long Island Sound and may require a zig-zag course to keep you bow or stern in the waves.
Questions, call Moe 860-301-3920.
Thanks Moe and Peter!
