February 18-19 Skating (and xc ski/snowshoe) Weekend in VT
Saturday AM: leave the Lodge for pond skating at Lake Morey at 9:30 AM to arrive at the lake at 10:40 AM. Lake Morey has a plowed track all the way around the lake if you want to do distance skating. Longer blade skates are available to rent. There are also several plowed rink areas to skate on. Don’t Skate? No problem! Bring your XC skis and snowshoes as both activities are available at Lake Morey on their tracked trails. No snow? Bring your micro spikes and we will do a nice hike next to Lake Morey with great views of the Connecticut River Valley.
Dinner on your own Saturday evening.
Sunday AM: meet at Grafton Outdoors Center for a Sleigh Ride at 10:00AM. $10.00 per person. To reserve a seat email: corowhoule@gmail.com. First come, first served. If you are interested, you must sign up in advance. This time is set aside for MTL members and other time slots during the day are organized by the Outdoor Center. https://www.graftoninnvermont.com/southern-vt-trails-outdoors
Sunday AM: meet at Grafton Outdoors Center at 11:00 for XC skiing, snowshoeing or micro spiking on their groomed trails. Additionally, there is skating at Okemo on Sunday if that interests anyone. That would have to be scheduled through OKEMO. We hear there is skating in Londonderry as well. See the flyer for more details. Ice Skating Weekend 2023 Itinerary
