Jeanne Delehanty 860-748-5858. Arrive by 12:15 PM. Hike steps off promptly at 12:30 PM. This approximately 4 mile hike, partially along the Metacomet Ridge, with beautiful views to the west, is rated moderate. There are some moderately steep ups and downs and some walking along the edge of an incline with slight drop off. No bail out or turn around options. You must be prepared to hike the entire distance. Rocks, roots, leaves and nature's ball bearings, acorns, abound on this trail. It is also mud season in the woods. HIKING FOOTWEAR REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE. NO sneakers! On this hike last year we saw bears! For apres hike we will picnic in the park. BYOEverything, including a blanket or extra layer as it may be chilly. Cancellation due to inclement weather will be posted on the MTL website calendar by Sunday morning.
