Midweek Skiing Locally
Author Last Post
Here are some interesting and informative information on the following Local ski areas
All the information is and was for Midweek skiing and is current as of today’s date.
All areas have plenty of made snow with excellent grooming
SEASON PASS HOLDERS …JUST GO TO LIFTS. NO SIGN IN PROCEDURES.
Mohawk, if a 70 plus member no need to online pre sign in or purchase, just go to outside window over the bridge pay $10 get daily lift ticket and off to the slopes. All other tickets require online payment and reservations. (go online to practice and see how it works.)
You can go into the lodge to change into boots but you must remove any belongings from lodge. (lodge is so empty.) a great deal of tables removed. Walls removed to make larger, bathrooms entrance with new exits.
This means you do not have to change in your car or in the parking lot. (bring chair for parking lot change)
Military rates:
To take advantage of this great offer, just come to any Mohawk Mountain Ticket Window in the Main Lodge, and present a valid (not expired) active duty military photo ID (limit one ticket per person, per day). $10
Non-active-duty personnel and veterans also receive a discount – show your military ID, or DD-214 discharge papers and a Photo ID, and you will receive the JUNIOR rate for any lift ticket
BUTTERNUT- All on line purchases and reservations $20 Senior all others $25 lots of cars in parking lot but skiers spread well throughout the area , so do not be alarmed with the number of cars. Most lifts operating with hard to imagine or non-existing short lift lines.
SUNDOWN-on line purchases. They are the only ski area in the world that requires face coverings at all times. Most areas clearly state “mask on premises except while ACTIVELY SKIING OR RIDING OR ACTIVELY EATING
Vail epic passes Icon passes etc. You must sign in online the days you plan to ski. Once you sign in your passes will be automatically activated when you get “scanned” at lifts.
Check out all the ski areas for updated information which can easily change from day to day.
OKEMO- Only started my days at Jackson Gore. All lodges require specific instructions on entering buildings. (scanning of your pass is required almost everywhere you go. (be prepared for any changes) Boots on in parking lot (some skiers find ways to sit down in lodges to change but must remove all personal belongings. Drop off area is eliminated near building. Ski racks are placed for drop off at the 1st parking lot directly in front of Jackson Gore Area.
No indoor storage of belongings. This memo is a short version of what to expect. A lot of inconvenience however it is worth the reward of enjoyable skiing and limited lift lines. (the longest lift line was at the beginning of the day of 6 minutes at the Sunburst Six and no wait at Jackson Gore Quantum four)
If anyone wishes to contact me via email feel free to do so if any questions or if you are interested in joining me at the local areas midweek. Each day I am somewhere locally.
